Extreme weather doesn’t always have to lead to disaster and being prepared can make all the difference.
The more prepared you are for emergencies, the less stressful they become and the easier it can be to recover afterwards.
For over a century, Red Cross has been helping Australians get through all types of emergencies. Last year alone, we assisted over 83,000 people through the bushfires, the COVID-19 pandemic and other emergencies great and small.
Every time, we see how being prepared can make an emergency less stressful, protect family keepsakes, and even save lives.
At the end of the quiz tell us how prepared you think you are and you’ll go into the draw to win a $500 shopping voucher, kindly donated from our corporate partner, Coles.

In the past year, we have supported more than 84,000 Australians affected by 63 emergencies and disasters. We showed people how to get prepared, provided personal support during disasters and made follow-up visits as communities picked up the pieces in the weeks and months afterwards. We know that a little bit of support at the right time can make all the difference.
But that’s just the beginning of what we do. Red Cross teams also support older, isolated folks with daily welfare phone calls, they reconnect families separated by war, they help refugees making new lives in Australia, they support young people in prison to make positive life changes, and so much more.
